Basketball Recap: Cloey Wade Key Part of a Team Effort in Cherokees Win

South-Doyle won the last time they faced Loudon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South-Doyle Cherokees narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Loudon Redskins 51-48.

South-Doyle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cloey Wade led the charge by going 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Those 12 points gave Wade a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Rollins, who went 7 for 9 en route to 18 points and six boards.

South-Doyle's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-12. As for Loudon, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

South-Doyle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-44 win against Seymour on the 17th. Loudon has also already played their next contest (against Greenback), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
