Baseball Recap: Cissna Park Takes a Loss

Cissna Park might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Hoopeston who claimed the real prize. The Timberwolves came up short against the Cornjerkers, falling 12-2. The Timberwolves haven't had much luck with the Cornjerkers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cissna Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jream Renteria, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Cissna Park's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Hoopeston, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cissna Park will host Oakwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Timberwolves will need to watch out since the Comets have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Hoopeston, they will square off against Schlarman at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cornjerkers are facing the Hilltoppers at the right time seeing as the Hilltoppers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
