After a string of 12 wins, Shawnee's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christopher Bearcats. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.

Shawnee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Berkli Holtman, who posted 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Young, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Shawnee's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4. As for Christopher, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.

Shawnee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trico at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christopher, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Wayne City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
