Recap: Austin Mustangs vs. Sterling Raiders
The Austin Mustangs suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Friday. Their rough 48-25 defeat to Sterling might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Austin has suffered against Sterling since December 18, 2020.
Sterling was led to victory by Amanda Scott and Joemoriah Ben. Scott scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and six assists, while Ben scored 32 points along with six steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Ben has scored at least a third of Sterling's points.
Austin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Sterling, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Austin will be playing at home against Galena Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sterling, Sterling and Milby will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Milby is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
