Football Recap: Joel Barlow Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Joel Barlow extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were outmatched by the Brookfield Bobcats and fell 47-13. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

When it comes to explaining why Joel Barlow lost, don't look at Kaden Holub. Despite the final result, he rushed for 98 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 58 yards.

As for Brookfield, their record is now 3-1. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Tyler Buttendorf was his usual excellent self, rushing for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 43 receiving yards and one score. Matt Ackerly was in the mix as well, providing Brookfield with two TDs.

Joel Barlow and Brookfield will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Falcons see the field they'll take on Pomperaug at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Brookfield, their break will end when they face Foran at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th.
