Volleyball Game Preview: Pioneer Mustangs vs. Christopher Cougars

The Pioneer Mustangs will take on the Christopher Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Pioneer has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Pioneer is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Gunn just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Christopher had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past the Warriors 3-0.

Christopher never let Westmont on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

Christopher's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Pioneer, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Pioneer took their victory against Christopher in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Pioneer repeat their success, or does Christopher have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
