Basketball Recap: Pilot Grove Drops Season-High Score on Fayette

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pilot Grove). They came out on top against the Fayette Falcons by a score of 74-65 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Fayette lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Charles Alexander, who posted 19 points and five steals. Those 19 points gave Alexander a new career-high. Blake Braden was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Pilot Grove's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Fayette, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coincidentally, Pilot Grove and Fayette will both be playing Slater the next time they take the court. Pilot Grove will head out to face Slater at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Fayette will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
