Basketball Recap: Camden County Takes a Loss

Camden County managed to slip by Pasquotank County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bruins came up short against the Panthers on Saturday, falling 71-48. The matchup marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pasquotank County was led to victory by Branden Smith and Trey Barnes. Smith went 6-for-9 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds, while Barnes dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (83%). Another player making a difference was Jadin Mitchell, who posted 13 points.

Camden County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pasquotank County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden County will take on Northside - Pinetown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pasquotank County, they will challenge Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
