Benicia will be up against a hot Ygnacio Valley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Ygnacio Valley blew past Alhambra 74-54 on Thursday. The score was close at the half, but the Wolves pulled away in the second half with 38 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Benicia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 69-40 win over Berean Christian. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Eagles are ranked 835th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ygnacio Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
