Recap: Fremont Tigers vs. Oakland Tech Bulldogs

After flying high against the Castlemont Knights last Wednesday, the Fremont Tigers came back down to earth. Fremont fell to Oakland Tech 66-62. While losing is never fun, Fremont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Oakland Tech is ranked 103rd).

Jaylen Wheeler and Ozmandias Savage certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Wheeler scored 25 points, while Savage scored 19 points.

Ardarius Grayson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Oakland Tech, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Grayson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xan Myer-Plettner, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Oakland Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Fremont will be playing in front of their home fans against McClymonds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fremont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully McClymonds likes a good challenge. As for Oakland Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Castlemont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oakland Tech has three straight victories, Castlemont has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
