Volleyball Recap: Sacred Heart Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sophie Hesse and Ava Judd

If Sacred Heart was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bunceton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gremlins took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stover Bulldogs on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Gremlins in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Sacred Heart had strong showings from Ava Judd, who had eight kills, eight digs, and one block, and Sophie Hesse, who had 22 digs.

Teagan Morris went supernova For Stover., getting 19 digs and one assist. Those 19 digs gave Morris a new career-high. Maycee Burton also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Sacred Heart's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Stover, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4-1.
