Preview: Timberlake Tigers vs. Bonners Ferry Badgers
The Timberlake Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Bonners Ferry Badgers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Timberlake has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Bonners Ferry will arrive with five straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Timberlake was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Priest River.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tyler Engelson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Yetter, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bonners Ferry gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Newport, posting a 82-36 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Bonners Ferry has posted since December 9, 2023.
Timberlake has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Bonners Ferry, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Timberlake, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 79-61 loss to Bonners Ferry in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Timberlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
