Softball Game Preview: Jackson Polar Bears vs. Perry Panthers

The Jackson Polar Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Perry Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Perry likes a good challenge.

15 must be Jackson's lucky number: they beat Wooster with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Polar Bears beat the Generals by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-7. The victory continues a trend for the Polar Bears in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Perry fell victim to GlenOak and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jackson's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Perry, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Jackson beat Perry 5-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Polar Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
