Tonopah Valley has no trouble against River Valley

The Tonopah Valley Phoenix scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past River Valley with points to spare, taking the game 86-68. That 18 points margin sets a new team best for Tonopah Valley this season.

Tonopah Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Valentine out in front who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lars Durham, who scored 14 points.

River Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nysaiah Vargas, who scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals. Vargas hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Nash Hanrahan, who scored 20 points.

Even though they lost, River Valley were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tonopah Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for River Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonopah Valley will take on American Leadership Academy - West Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Leadership Academy - West Foothills is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for River Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yuma Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Yuma Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 429 points over their last six matchups.
