Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwestern). They really took it to the East Alton-Wood River Oilers for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-36 victory. The win continues a trend for the Piasa Birds in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won four in a row.

Southwestern had a senior duo take command as Ian Brantley went 12 for 13 en route to 31 points and eight rebounds and Ryan Lowis went 7 of 11 on his way to 21 points and six boards. What's more, Brantley also posted a 92% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2023. Cason Robinson was another key player, putting up three points and five assists.

When it comes to explaining why East Alton-Wood River lost on Tuesday, don't look at Tamarion Marshall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Spiller, who posted 11 points.

Southwestern's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for East Alton-Wood River, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-22.

Southwestern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-49 win against Vandalia on the 7th. As for East Alton-Wood River, they have also already played their next game, a 68-45 loss against Sparta on the 5th.
