Preview: Strasburg Indians vs. Liberty Common Eagles

Strasburg is 8-1 against Liberty Common since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Strasburg Indians' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Liberty Common Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Strasburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 343 points over their last four games.

Strasburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Valley 109-46 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Strasburg has managed all season.

Strasburg relied on the efforts of Tyce Bollers, who scored 27 points along with three steals, and Austin Velasco, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Velasco has scored all season. Nick Glatfelter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Meanwhile, Liberty Common's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 78-44 loss at the hands of Prospect Ridge Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Liberty Common has suffered yet this season.

Despite the loss, Liberty Common got a solid performance out of Max Frevert, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pierce Richardson, who scored 12 points.

Liberty Common struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Strasburg pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 56 points. As for Liberty Common, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Strasburg skirted past Liberty Common 64-61 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Liberty Common's Hunter Lipsey, who scored 14 points along with five assists and four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Strasburg to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
