Basketball Recap: Elliott Erlandsson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Davie over West Forsyth

Davie lost against West Forsyth back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Davie War Eagles fell 61-53 to the West Forsyth Titans. The War Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Several War Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elliott Erlandsson, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Dulin, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Davie was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Davie's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for West Forsyth, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Davie and West Forsyth should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Davie will face off against Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 253 places (67 vs. 320). Davie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season. Meanwhile, West Forsyth (ranked 26th) will meet R.J. Reynolds (ranked 333rd) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
