Recap: Morrow Mustangs vs. Rockdale County Bulldogs
The Morrow Mustangs are still undefeated this season after their match against the Rockdale County Bulldogs on Friday, but the Rockdale County Bulldogs came as close as anyone has to beating them. Morrow narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Rockdale County 44-41. Given Morrow's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Rockdale County is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Morrow to victory were Mikayla Dunston and muzic dace. Dunston scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds, while dace scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which dace has scored at least 25% of Morrow's points.
Rockdale County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooke Glasgow, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jada Henry, who scored 12 points.
Morrow pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Rockdale County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Morrow will play host again and welcome Mt. Zion, where tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rockdale County, they will head out on the road to face off against Alcovy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Janae Hutcherson and Tre?Miyah Berry.
