Recap: Carthage Bulldogs vs. Center Roughriders
The Carthage Bulldogs put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 72-27 win over Center. With Carthage ahead 51-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Jett Surratt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 413 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Surratt is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Carthage also got help from Bradan Manning who showed off his sure hands for 195 receiving yards.
Center's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaden Dixon, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown. Emonte Cross was another key contributor, rushing for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Carthage's win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.9 points per game. As for Center, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Carthage will take on Van at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Van is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Center, they will head out on the road to face off against Bullard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
