Baseball Recap: Lincoln Wins Going Away Against Licking Heights

Lincoln won the last time they faced Licking Heights and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions blew past the Hornets 8-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aidan Piatt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lincoln is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-12 otherwise. Piatt was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Kaden Farris looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Piatt wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon George, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Licking Heights, they dropped their record down to 3-19 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will take on Dublin Scioto at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Licking Heights, they will face off against Westerville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
