Baseball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield was the 12-10 winner over St. Charles when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates on Tuesday.

DJ Barth was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ayden Korhammer, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Winfield's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for St. Charles, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

While Winfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
