Baseball Recap: Bellevue Takes a Loss

Bellevue has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 13-3 to the Bothell Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Dylan Leaird made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bellevue has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Bothell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Bellevue is taking a road trip to face off against Mercer Island at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines are facing the Islanders at the right time seeing as the Islanders are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bothell, they will face off against Lake Stevens at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.4, the Vikings 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
