Basketball Game Preview: Weaver Beavers vs. Maine-Endwell Spartans

The Weaver Beavers will challenge the Maine-Endwell Spartans at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Weaver is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Academy of Science and Innovation just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 56-42 bruising from the Ravens. The game marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maine-Endwell). They enjoyed a cozy 72-58 win over Union-Endicott on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Weaver's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Maine-Endwell, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
