Softball Game Preview: Bremen Lions vs. Fairfield Falcons

The Bremen Lions will face off against the Fairfield Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bremen will be strutting in after a win while Fairfield will be coming in after a defeat.

Bremen barely beat Manchester the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Bremen put the hurt on Manchester with a sharp 8-2 victory on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Chrissy Grabowski made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Eliana Grubbs was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Macie Binkley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Bremen hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester struck out nine times.

Fairfield kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elkhart.

Adelyn Holsopple was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

Bremen took their win against Fairfield in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1. Does Bremen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fairfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
