Basketball Recap: Easley Green Wave vs. Greenwood Eagles

Easley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Greenwood Eagles 70-34. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-39 on January 3rd.

Greenwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Danielle Oliver out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. The matchup was Oliver's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Oliver, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Easley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Greenwood, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Easley will be playing in front of their home fans against Mauldin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mauldin will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Easley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenwood, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against J.L. Mann at 6:00 p.m. Greenwood is on a eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), J.L. Mann a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
