Baseball Game Preview: St. Albans Red Dragons vs. George Washington Patriots

For the second straight game, St. Albans will face off against George Washington. The Red Dragons will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Albans 3.5, George Washington 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

St. Albans is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: George Washington, who was ranked second at the time (St. Albans was ranked 18th). The Red Dragons fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Red Dragons haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

George Washington pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Albans, their loss dropped their record down to 19-9.
