Basketball Recap: New Bern's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

New Bern can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 40-28 win over the Ayden - Grifton Chargers. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

New Bern was led to victory by Makenzie Richardson and Constance Jefferson. Richardson posted 14 points, while Jefferson scored 14 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Richardson has scored at least a third of New Bern's points.

New Bern's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Ayden - Grifton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

New Bern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-28 loss against West Craven on the 6th. As for Ayden - Grifton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-43 win against South Lenoir on the 6th.
