Clayton takes loss despite strong efforts from Rainelle Blocker and Jordyn Jones

Recap: Clayton Clippers vs. Wildwood Warriors
The Clayton Clippers's 18-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 74-48 walloping at the hands of Wildwood on Tuesday. Clayton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clayton's loss came despite strong showings from Jordyn Jones and Rainelle Blocker. Jones scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Blocker dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Blocker scored a full 29.2% of Clayton's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ava Delaney was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Clayton bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wildwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Clayton will be home for the holidays to greet Camden Academy Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wildwood will take on Cape May County Tech in a holiday battle at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday at.
