Basketball Game Preview: Hamlin Chargers vs. Sioux Valley Cossacks

The Hamlin Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the Sioux Valley Cossacks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hamlin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.

Hamlin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Clark/Willow Lake, who was ranked 15th at the time (Hamlin was ranked third). Hamlin blew past Clark/Willow Lake 69-47 back in February. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Sioux Valley rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Falcons 62-60. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cossacks.

Hamlin pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.2 points. As for Sioux Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Everything went Hamlin's way against Sioux Valley in their previous matchup back in January, as Hamlin made off with a 59-39 win. Does Hamlin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sioux Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
