Recap: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. Clewiston Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Martin County, the Okeechobee Brahmans were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Clewiston by a score of 31-21. That ten points margin sets a new team best for Okeechobee this season.
Justice Shanks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Okeechobee's points.
Clewiston's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kalyn Johnson, who scored eight points along with four steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Tyra Fields was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 16 rebounds.
Okeechobee's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Clewiston, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Okeechobee will take on Vero Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vero Beach is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Clewiston, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against LaBelle at 7:30 p.m. LaBelle is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
