Baseball Recap: North Lenoir Wins Going Away Against Southwest Onslow

North Lenoir came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Southwest Onslow Stallions 7-1 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Garrett Byrd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

North Lenoir was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got North Lenoir back to even at 3-3. As for Southwest Onslow, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
