Basketball Game Preview: Lewiston Blue Devils vs. Edward Little Red Eddies

Lewiston and Edward Little are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Lewiston Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Edward Little Red Eddies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lewiston has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Edward Little will come in with four straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Lewiston came up short against Oxford Hills and fell 51-41. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Vikings are ranked sixth).

While Edward Little didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 win over Thornton Academy on Tuesday.

Lewiston's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Edward Little, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Lewiston was able to grind out a solid victory over Edward Little when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 54-46. Does Lewiston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Edward Little turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
