Basketball Game Preview: Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls vs. Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs + How To Watch

Hickory Ridge is a perfect 10-0 against Jay M. Robinson since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ragin' Bulls will take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Hickory Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Hickory Ridge took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-32 victory over Chambers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ragin' Bulls.

Ma-Kaela Gidney had another great game (as she tends to do), shooting 47% from the field to rack up 17 points and eight steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaila Ritter, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and five steals.

Hickory Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 26 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Jay M. Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 50-37 to South Iredell.

Hickory Ridge will need to focus on slowing down Zarriya York, one of several Jay M. Robinson players who made an impact when they last played. She scored 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anayia Forte, who put up six points and five steals.

Hickory Ridge's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Jay M. Robinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Hickory Ridge hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.5 points per game. It's a different story for Jay M. Robinson, though, as they've been averaging only 28 points. The only thing between Hickory Ridge and another offensive beatdown is the Bulldogs. Will they be able to keep them contained?

Everything came up roses for Hickory Ridge against Jay M. Robinson in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 68-20 victory. In that game, the Ragin' Bulls amassed a halftime lead of 39-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
