Baseball Recap: Killian Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Killian Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Northside Christian Mustangs and fell 2-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon Pfeiffer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Killian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Arcaute, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Killian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Northside Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Killian will square off against Archbishop Carroll at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside Christian, they will take on St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
