Basketball Recap: Berry Find Success

Pickens Academy came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Berry, but Maggie Mauldin wouldn't allow it. Everything went the Berry Wildcats' way against the Pickens Academy Pirates on Thursday as the Berry Wildcats made off with a 58-32 win thanks in part to Mauldin, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (seven).

Anna Raley Palmer was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Berry's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Pickens Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Berry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-36 defeat against Hubbertville on the 3rd. Pickens Academy has also already played their next contest (against Tuscaloosa Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
