Baseball Recap: Princeton Comes Up Short

Princeton lost against Newman Central Catholic on April 10th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Comets by a score of 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Forristall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Princeton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Reinhardt, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-2. As for Newman Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Princeton is set to face off against their familiar foe Kewanee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Newman Central Catholic will challenge rival Mendota at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
