Softball Recap: Lubbock-Cooper Finds Playoff Glory Versus Parkland

It's playoff time, and Lubbock-Cooper had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Parkland Matadors on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now won six in a row.

The result came thanks to Brooklyn Ray's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addison Luna was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lydia Pesterfield, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Lubbock-Cooper's win bumped their record up to 28-5. As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 20-16.

Lubbock-Cooper has already played their next game, a 17-3 victory against Brewer on the 9th. Parkland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
