Basketball Game Preview: Putnam Vo-Tech Beavers vs. Central Golden Eagles

Putnam Vo-Tech is 2-8 against Central since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Putnam Vo-Tech Beavers will welcome the Central Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Putnam Vo-Tech is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holyoke. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Purple Knights are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Central's and Holyoke's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Central turned on the heat in the second half with 56 points. Central was the clear victor by a 90-70 margin over Holyoke. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Central pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.3 points per game. As for Putnam Vo-Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
