Basketball Recap: Chancellor Falls Despite Big Games from Hedi Abed and Larell Edwards

Chancellor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. The match between them and the Culpeper County Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Chancellor Chargers falling 69-51. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 63-55.

Larell Edwards and Hedi Abed certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Edwards posted 18 points and six rebounds, while Abed put up 12 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Abed a new career-high. Cash Dodson was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Chancellor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Culpeper County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chancellor will face off against King George at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chancellor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for Culpeper County, they will challenge Caroline at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Caroline's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
