Baseball Recap: Tampa Catholic Finds Playoff Glory Versus Bishop Mclaughlin Catholic

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tampa Catholic walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Crusaders: when they faced off against the Hurricanes on Monday, they had to take a 10-5 defeat.

Christian Serralles looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Smythe, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Daniel Smythe was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Tampa Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop McLaughlin Catholic struck out 11 times.
