Softball Recap: Cameron Beats Ashland for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Cameron had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Ashland Oredockers 16-6. Considering the Comets have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emerson Krahenbuhl made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Addy Ebner was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Dexter, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Cameron's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Ashland, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cameron will square off against Cumberland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ashland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ladysmith at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
