Baseball Recap: Ribault Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Ribault's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the First Coast Buccaneers on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ribault saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cristhian Leyva-Morales, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Ribault's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for First Coast, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Ribault will challenge Hilliard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Red Flashes at the right time seeing as the Red Flashes are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for First Coast, they will take on Ponte Vedra at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sharks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight.
