Recap: Austin Panthers vs. Cameron County Raiders
The Austin Panthers lost against the Cameron County Raiders back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Austin took a serious blow against Cameron County, falling 62-21. While losing is never fun, Austin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Cameron County is ranked 29th).
Josh Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds for Cameron County. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Cameron County's points. Jake Narby was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Austin bumped their record down to 1-3 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cameron County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Austin will head out on the road to face off against Cowanesque Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cameron County will be home for the holidays to greet Otto-Eldred at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Otto-Eldred has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 341 points over their last five games.
