Baseball Recap: Marmion Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Marmion's offense. They lost 9-0 to the St. Francis Spartans on Saturday. The Cadets haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Marmion's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11-1. As for St. Francis, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marmion will head out to take on Aurora Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cadets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to square off against Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Friars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
