Baseball Game Preview: Upland Highlanders/Scots vs. Damien Spartans

For the second straight game, Upland will face off against Damien. The Highlanders/Scots will take on the Spartans at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Upland is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Upland fell victim to Damien and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

For Damien's part, Rudy O'Dell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts O'Dell has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Elius Kelly was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Brady Bickham also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Upland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Damien, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
