Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors vs. Hapeville Charter Hornets

Southwest Atlanta Christian hasn't had much luck against Hapeville Charter recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Hornets at 2:30 p.m. Southwest Atlanta Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

While Southwest Atlanta Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 81-32 win over Monsignor Donovan Catholic. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hapeville Charter came up short against Landmark Christian on Friday and fell 65-53. The Hornets were down 57-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Southwest Atlanta Christian will need to focus on slowing down Anderson Shelton, one of several Hapeville Charter players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 50% from the field on his way to 10 points. Another player making a difference was Kody Brown, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Hapeville Charter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Southwest Atlanta Christian came up short against Hapeville Charter in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 47-43. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
