Volleyball Recap: Johansen Comes Up Short

Johansen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Lathrop Spartans, falling 3-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-9.

Leading Lathrop to victory were Ayden Petroff and Jadore Dixon. Petroff had four digs, three aces, and one block, while Dixon had 11 digs and four aces. Petroff has been hot, having also posted 19 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Johansen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lathrop, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johansen will welcome Central Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lathrop, they will host River Islands at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
