Soccer Recap: Valparaiso Starts off Right with Win over Portage

Valparaiso had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the Portage Indians a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday. The score was close at halftime, but Valparaiso pulled away in the second half with four goals.

Their offense was hitting Portage from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Looking ahead, Valparaiso will be playing in front of their home fans against Northridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Portage, they will head out on the road to challenge Boone Grove at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
