Soccer Game Preview: Skyline vs. Brentsville District

Skyline is 1-9 against Brentsville District since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Skyline has given up an average of 7.4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Skyline fell victim to Kettle Run and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Cougars. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Kettle Run are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Brentsville District's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. Neither they nor James Wood could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result kept Brentsville District happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 1st.

Leah Schaffner and Samantha Habib scored both of Brentsville District's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1. With that draw, Brentsville District's record moves to 4-1-2.
