Two dominant signal callers in Chase Lantelme and Briggs Satterfield are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Stratford Elks will square off against the Gruver Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stratford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Stratford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Bovina to the tune of 48-14. Considering the Elks have won nine matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Stratford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ranger Carroll out in front who picked up 124 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 124 receiving yards gave Carroll a new career-high. Hunter Lee was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and one score.

Stratford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Stratford's defense stepped up as well, laying out Elijah Rocha five times. Case Brown was especially locked on to Bovina's QB and sacked him twice. Gruver found their leader in sophomore Satterfield, who rushed for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 229 yards and one TD while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Mason Lankford also set a new season-high mark in receiving yards with 131.

Gruver's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Stratford, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-2.

Stratford was able to grind out a solid win over Gruver in their previous meeting back in October, winning 40-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Satterfield, who threw for 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 71 yards and one score.
